How to install

Android phone or tablet

  1. Open ommais.com in Chrome.
  2. Tap Install app at the top of the page — or tap the ⋮ menu, then Install app (on some phones it says Add to Home screen).
  3. Tap Install. The OMMAIS icon appears with your other apps.

iPhone or iPad

  1. Open ommais.com in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up).
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.

Windows, Mac, Linux or Chromebook

  1. Open ommais.com in Chrome or Edge.
  2. Click the install icon at the right end of the address bar (a small screen with a down arrow), or Install app at the top of the page.
  3. Click Install. OMMAIS opens in its own window and can be pinned to your taskbar or dock.

Firefox on a computer cannot install web apps; Chrome and Edge can.

Questions

Is the OMMAIS app free?
Yes. The app, the chat, the games and the guides are all free. There is no app store involved, so there is nothing to buy and no account needed to install it.
Is it safe to install?
It is installed by your own browser (Chrome, Edge or Safari) from ommais.com, the same way you would add any site to your home screen. It gets no permissions on your phone beyond what a web page has, and it can be removed like any other app.
Why is it not on the Google Play Store?
Installing from the browser gives you the same app without a store in the middle, and every improvement reaches you the moment it is published instead of waiting for store review.
Does the chat work without Ollama?
Yes. On every device the chat uses a free, keyless cloud model (Mistral Nemo) by default, so there is nothing to set up. If you run Ollama on your computer, you can switch any seat to your own local models in Settings.
Can I play the games offline?
Yes. Any game you have opened is kept on your device, and the "Save games for offline" button below downloads all of the arcade games at once. Online multiplayer and the chat need a connection.
How much space does it take?
Very little. All of the arcade games saved for offline play come to about 2.5 MB, most of it the 3D engine they share.
